The Sandwich Community Fire Protection District provides fire/ rescue and emergency medical services to residents in the City of Sandwich as well as rural portions of Dekalb, Kendall and LaSalle Counties. We are staffed with approximately 35 volunteer firefighters who are committed to providing a professional level of service to our community. |

Having a working smoke detector greatly improves your chances of survival in the event of a house fire. According to the National Fire Protection Association, 70 percent of home fire deaths result from fires in homes that do not have smoke detectors or homes that do not have working smoke detectors. We will install smoke detectors at no cost to the homeowner, as well as inspect any existing detection devices with recommendations made for increased personal safety. Residents that may need help changing the batteries in their existing smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detectors can contact us as well and we will send a firefighter to assist you.
